Why are the pictures so tiny?

I'm squinting at 200x150 pictures of the get-together.
I'm also wondering whether there's some potential for integration with other sites where people keep their photos (e.g., Flickr, Picasaweb). The RSS feeds for the blogs are pretty cool; I don't know whether something similar could be done for photos.

Click on "original"
You can see the full-size images by clicking on "original". But I agree - we should probably have an intermediate size, around the 400px range.
As for integration with other services: YES. I think this was working at one point, but I'm not sure where we are right now. Maj?

Cool.
I think I tried this on one picture that had a tiny original (I'm never going to be able to find it again) and gave up. Duh. Thanks, I feel better.

Images
I'd like to create a separate template for displaying full size images-- maybe without the left nav.
As for image feeds-- yes we're working on this. Just as with blogs, we'd rather not reinvent the wheel and/or ask people to uproot themselves from the services they are currently using. There are a couple options for allowing image rss feeds, a "flickr picker" and other modules I' trying out on the dev site.
I'll post something soon for you (Jonboy, Super RSS Beta Tester) to try out.
As always, thanks for the feedback, Admin Maj

RSS
I *believe* my Flickr RSS feed is http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?id=41659265@N00&tags=travel&format=atom. I had mostly used Picasaweb, but I can't figure out how to get an RSS feed out of there. So I don't have a lot of pictures there. (In fact, the Cologne ones were just uploaded this week to hit the minimum of 5, which should eventually get my account off "pending".)
So, whenever you're ready, it's available for testing. If it works, I'll switch to that away from Picasaweb.

New size option
I added a new image size called "display"
It looks like this: http://extra.wikitravel.org/node/696?size=display
Would that be a better default?

Default
I think the display size would be better for a default. If I click on an image, that seems like a reasonable size. The smaller size might be a reasonable default for pix embedded in blogs or other places.
IMHO.

Bumped up
Ok, I`'ve bumped the image display default to 500 x 500. I'll have to go back and see how that looking in blogs too...
I'll start working on a new image display template for the full size.
Thanks

Fall back
I had to roll it back to the smaller size as it was breaking blogs... I'll try to work out how to have the image pages use a different size from the inline images (it's not working as advertised)...
You can still look at the display and original sizes by clicking on the links.
thanks admin maj
