Can't edit old blog posts

I can't seem to edit (that is, get an edit button) for old blog posts, even though I'm logged in -- a caching issue? Also, the handy-dandy everready comment posting help now says... Easily link to terms in various wikis. For help, see <a href="/interwiki/5">interwiki. ...complete with broken link to how easy it is to create links (d'oh).

Permissions hiccup

Jonboy has also noticed this permissions snafu with a certain set of older posts. I'm trying to figure out why it's only affecting content submitted in a specific time period... I'll update (and ask you to check again) as soon as I have some progress on it...

Thanks

Bump

Still ain't working...

Yeah, I'm hitting a wall

I've tried a couple of things and so far no luck. But it hasn't fallen off my radar.

I've narrowed it down to the week after the big upgrade, so I'm guessing that did it. There's a small upgrade I'm going to rollout tomorrow that may fix it...

I'll keep you posted

Aaaaaaargh!

This is back with a vengeance -- I can't edit anything anymore (eg. http://extra.wikitravel.org/node/1177/edit, which was my latest entry).

Try it now...

It's too hot here (+32) for all these bugs today! But I just got a crazy idea, so please try again...

FIX

You should now have edit access to your old blog posts, BUT if you edit them you may see the HTML go all weird.

The fix is to click on the "Input Format" link just below the body text area. Select 'Filtered HTML' and save.

If you do not see this link, let me know the url of the post and I can do it for you.

It seems that if you change the permissions on an input format (for example removing access to full HTML for better site security) it locks users out of any old posts that use(d) that format. Sad thing to have totally undocumented...

Yay!

Seems to work now, and I can finally even edit really old entries. The HTML conversion doesn't work perfectly (eg. lists go wonky), but it's good enough.
