I will go to Beijing to watch the Olympics, which I expect for such a long time. But I meet some problem when I want to share with my family, my friends, it will be a huge expense if I use my own number, so I want to rent a phone with local number, which can let me call my home with a lower charge. Do you guys have any good suggestions?

Maybe it is what you want
According to your problem, I had some finding, or should I say, my friend Brian, had some finding. He came over from US to Beijing in June to tour around a couple of days, and he was so dismaled to find out that his iPhone doesn't work in China. In his own words, Yoyoor came to rescue. He was overjoyed to find that Yoyoor is not only a mobilephone, there is a whole package of extra services go with the mobilephone: GPS navigation, international IP call function, live English assistant, definitely big bang for your bucks. We want to spread words around so that you know what to look for if you want to stay connected in China.

I used Yoyoor mobile last
I used Yoyoor mobile last time I was in China. I was really impressed by Yoyoor representatives intensive knowledge on Beijing and they give excellent recommodation on where to stay, where to eat, where to have fun, etc. I don't think I would experience so many wonderful things without Yoyoor. Delivery and return is very reflexible. I left my Yoyoor mobile at terminal 3 in Beijing International Airport. Very convinient.

We have used Skype in China
We have used Skype in China with good results on trips in 2005 & 2006 - very inexpensive. Does anyone know if govt security restrictions are being placed &/or increased on internet usage during the olympics?

it seems the Skype is a
it seems the Skype is a little higher during the olympics. when i have my laptop with me and there is wireless internet, skype is the top choie for me to make phones. But yoyoor mobile i said before, is totally different from skype. it helped me a lot when i was visiting scenic spots or having dinner, in another word, a condition without internet.
Yoyoor has a great mobile
Yoyoor has a great mobile phone for visitors. You pick it up in the airport on arrival, or receive it through express delivery. For just $4/day plus usage you get a Nokia GPS mobile phone, a fantastic live English language help service and cheap international and local calls. Much better than using a phone from your home country and paying roaming fees. The phones can be set up for group communications in advance, just give them the names of your group and they'll set up your address book. For those who already have a mobile phone in China, Yoyoor's "Travel-Lite" package is another good choice. Travel-Lite allows you to stay in touch with friends and family back home easily through a call forwarding service, at just $0.20 per minute. You'll also have unlimited access to our Yoyoor bilingual service center, to help you out with any communication problems you may run into. To top it all off, Travel-Lite gives you free travel and recreation updates by SMS, so you'll stay on top of what's happening in China.
