RSS problem in most recent Google reader

New http://www.google.com/reader seems not to accept http://crossroads.world66.com/node/feed, at least my search didn't match any feeds when using Google's [Search and browse] option.

Permissions
I assume this is because the site isn't currently allowing anonymous access to content.
I don't think we're quite ready to have people finding the site via search engines, etc.
We should talk about at what stage this should happen though...

Feeds
My guess is that we should do that once the site is actually open to public reading -- that is, in the "public beta" stage.

Feeds don't work
Hi all,
personally I'm finding it hard to follow all the conversations going on on this forum. I tried to subscribe to Crossroads RSS feed and it seems not to work with NetNewsWire either. Could you, please, tell me why?

Site is only accessible to register users
Since this is an alpha site, we have permissions set so that only invited & registered users can access the content -- including feeds. So RSS readers are currently being denied access.

about Sage...
[denied access]... if so, take care: where e.g. Google, Opera 9.01 and Bloglines (the ones I've cheked, + Giorgio's) refuse to offer subscriptions indeed, http://crossroads.world66.com/node/feed is perfectly well read and displayed by Sage 1.3.7 (for Firefox 2.0 beta).

Good to know!
Well, on one hand, it's good to know the feeds work (!), but I'll try and block that one too for now.
Thanks

Sage
Sage is a feed reader integrated into the browser, and since its part of Firefox, I think it returns the right authentication credentials. So I don't think you should (or can!) block it -- Crossroads is correctly requiring authentication, and Sage is providing the right cookies and whatnot to get in.

Also good to know!
That's what I was thinking since I couldn't imagine how it was getting in otherwise.
Well this give us a nice way to test the rss feeds without breaching our wall of secrecy.
BTW: I'll be rolling out rss feeds for tracker pages and other custom feeds by next week, as requested!

Most recent updates, same
Most recent updates, same results (Sage 1.3.8 + 2nd release candidate Firefox 2.0 'Bon Echo'). (the snag is that you can't logout from CR without loosing Sage's functionality).

As it should be
Reen, I'm going to move this to "resolved" as it seems to be acting just as we'd like it to at this stage: users should be logged in in order to access the feeds.
Again, this will change in the near future when we go public.
