Image borders, padding, alignment doesn't work
Image borders, alignment and padding show up fine in the preview pane, but disappear in the finished product. For example, this is supposed to be centered with a 10-px black border:
And this one centered ("Middle") with 10-px vertical space:
"Absolute Middle" fails to help:

Images...
We'll be rolling out some tools for adding images to blogs, both from your computer and directly from your gallery. Attempts to do fancy HTML/CSS are stripped from posts to prevent folks from accidently breaking the page layout...
If this type of image control is a prioirity, I can bump it up the todo list.

I'm not attempting to do any
I'm not attempting to do any fancy hand-hacks, I'm just using the options built into the Image dialog. If they don't work, then it might be best to remove them for time being.

Ah...
I see what you're talking about... and I think you're right about turning that off for now.
Thanks, and keep the comments coming!

You may not like the solution ...
But I've removed the image insert button from the WYSIWYG since, as you pointed out, it's not working as advertised. I've replaced it with the image attachment module. This works, and makes on-the-fly thumbnails *but* you can only attach a single image and it, currently just sticks it at the top of the post. This'll have to do for the (very) short term until I can rollout our longer term image solution.
Let me know if this is worse or better... Thanks,

Jani's minimum requirements
That means my London meets the Matrix blog entry will forevermore be the only blog here with multiple images! Muahaha!
Slightly more seriously, here's what I'll need to migrate any future travel writing o' mine to Crossroads:
That's about it, really.

Two more minimum requirements
...would be the ability to use off-site images, so I can just drop in the URL and Crossroads would render the thumbnail for me -- just like it's doing in the sample post that started this whole thread. The current attachment thingy doesn't seem to allow this, you have to upload a local copy of the picture.
And the thumbnail size must be adjustable (again, the original click-and-drag system was spiffy-keen).
