Decide where to go first, then see how much it costs

Airfares vary so drastically depending on timing and routing that I'd suggest you first figure out a few places you'd like to go, and then start working on the prices. Here's a handy list of all AA destinations:

Alaska? Central or South America? The Caribbean? AA has good coverage of Europe, but it's not exactly a "high-dollar" destination right now.
