My life in Beijing

My name is Chai Linyi, I am 23 years old at this year, study at CHN University Leeuwarden. Today I want to talk about my leisure activities which I did back in Beijing.

Zhong Guan Cun area is the areas I met my friends and buy my stuff, I often get there by taking the bus line 653 which will take me normally about an hour to get there. I often get off the bus at the “Huang Zhuang” station, and walk straight into the mall right at the cross. I often went to the book club “Bertelsmann” where I buy the books I wanted, they have excellent collections of books, wide ranged, and most of all cheap prices! I got my membership card about 5 years ago, so being a senior member of the club I can enjoy some serious discount when I purchase my books.

After the book club, I continue my journey into the mall where I “window shopping” or buy clothes or other stuff with my friends, wither at the supermarket or the small shops. There are two electronic department stores near the mall, where I can always buy my laptop accessories or other electronic entertainment equipments; you can bargain the price with the owner, which you can save a lot of money on that.

The “Tu Shu Cheng” is about 10 minutes walk away from the mall, they sell books, DVDs, games, TV dramas and pretty much everything on the particular street. But I often go to the Manga store which at the southern entrance of the street. It is not very big shop, but I have been there since I was in my high school, the owner knows me for a very long time, we are good friends, that's why she always give me discounts whenever I made my purchase. There are a couple of restaurants at opposite side of the street, but after so much purchases, I don't have much money left, and I am exhausted, so normally I will just go to the McDonald’s for a quick meal and go home.

Shuang An department store is another spot for me to hang out with my friends. To get there I take the same bus, but get off the bus one stop later at the “ren min da xue”. And then walk straight on cross the overpass, and turn left about 2 minutes, you will be able to see the big department store. My high school is located just behind the store, so for me it's a historical place to remind me those three years.

Because my best friend is living nearby, so we usually meet each other at in front of the KFC or McDonald’s. This area is a golden circle; a five star cinema is located just opposite the street, and several of good restaurants. I would recommend the “Ban Mu Yuan” restaurant, which have excellent food and reasonable prices.
