I'm happy to point to the announcement that Wikitravel Press now has a guide to Paris. Paris has long been a targeted city for Wikitravel Press, and I'm really happy we were able to get this book out.

I'm really pleased to announce here that one of the projects Maj and I have been working on for a long time has finally come to fruition. Today Wikitravel Press launched its first two Open Content printed guidebooks -- Wikitravel Chicago and Wikitravel Singapore.

We had a nice trip the rest of the way home from our Thanksgiving in New Jersey today. This morning we had breakfast in the Holiday Inn Express that we stayed in (very nice, new, clean, good pool and exercise room -- a good value for $109/night dual queens).

Long weekend of travel and family, and now we're back on our way to Montreal. I spent most of Thanksgiving weekend with my father's family in New Jersey, where he and my mom both grew up and where 4 of his brothers and sisters still live (and their kids, and so on).

24 July 2007 is the fourth birthday of Wikitravel, the free travel guide that I and my wife Michele Ann Jenkins started on July 24, 2003.

Maj, Amita June and I had a long day on airplanes today, heading to San Francisco. My brother Ted and his partner Nabil have decided to have a commitment ceremony, which is I guess one way of saying "get married". It's casual and fun, just like Ted and Nabil themselves, but Ted means too much to us for us to miss this event. So we spent some miles, dropped everything, and headed out west.

I forgot to mention -- we got a last-minute call yesterday to be on Global Quebec at 8:40AM EDT for their morning news/entertainment show. If you're in Montreal, watch us!

Another beautiful day here in Paradise. Montreal is fantastic in the late Spring/early Summer -- it's a great time to be here in the city. Yesterday, Amita June and I went to Parc Jean Drapeau, the beautiful park on an island in the St. Lawrence, the former site of Expo 67. We played at the (really cool) new playground, ran around in the grass, and looked at the river rushing by.

Long time no blog. Well, a long time for me -- it's been more than a week, which is pretty unusual. To be fair, I've been blogging on my Wikitravel Extra blog, since we were spending our week in Puerto Rico.
