Day 1: I have some of the stem forms recognized and know some of the roots.

qom - man

qöm - woman

qam - higher-order living thing

qim - non-human higher order living thing

kal - vocal utterance

kul - talk

kil - express

kol - talk with intent of producing sound

köl - talk with intent of communicating

Mutations learned: 0

Verbs/Noun mutations learned: 0

Affixes and adjuncts: 0

Notes: I think the words for speaking and writing could have been complementary derivations of a single root. In fact, the whole system could have been derived from the 17 categories embodied as roots. But, that would destroy other complex mutation systems.
