Confused conversation

I just called to "my family" in Albania.

16.5 years ago I visited them when I was only 13. I stayed in their home for a week and they were verty friendly. In a few weeks I am going back so I thought I should call them. And I was nervous. And I did...

The father answers. One big problem emerged. He does NOT speak a word of English. So I tried my best in Albanian. This is the conversation that followed (but off course not in English). xxx means I don't have a clue what he said at the time:

He: Hello

I: Hello. *his name*?

He: Yes

I: Anna, Sweden

He: xxx

I: Anna, Sweden. *daughters name*?

He: No. No *sisters name*

I: Ok

He: xxx (probably saying when they are back)

I: I don't understand

He: xxx

I: Ok (Had to say something, you know, to end this)

He: Good

I: Good bye

He: Bye

So, you see, it is a bit tricky. First I have NEVER had a conversation in Albanian before. I still think I managed pretty well being the first time and being so nervous. Also I am happy I called. It was sooooo cool!!! I am still shaking. I think I will try to call their other daughter instead. In that household everyone speaks English, which will help me. Maybe the father has called her and she can tell me what he tried to say... Laughing

Anyway, I am there in a few weeks and then I will try to really talk to him. That will be wonderful! And to see them all again. I will let you know how things went. And now I will try to gather my nervs and call his daughter. And speak some English to her.

Until next time,

Take care!
